Aluminium is the 3rd most abundant element in the earth’s crust! The main producers of this metal, which comes from red bauxite, are China, Russia, Canada, the United States and Australia.
It takes a lot of energy to produce, but bauxite producers are constantly trying to optimise their processes.
Heat treatment of aluminium aims to improve its mechanical properties, such as strength, hardness and durability, using controlled thermal processes.
Heat treatment processes include annealing, quenching, tempering and solution treatment. These processes modify the microstructure of the aluminium to achieve the desired characteristics. They can be crucial in certain industries such as aerospace, automotive and electronics, where specific mechanical properties are required.
It is in this context that we have won a new order in this market. We are going to carry out all the programming for the process controllers as well as level 2. The aim of this specific development will be to improve the automation of the furnaces and the metal loader in an aluminium heat treatment plant in China.
We would like to thank our customer European Furnace Ropion (E.F.R) for its confidence in this industrial automation project applied to the heat treatment of aluminium. This new contract once again highlights our expertise in the automation needed to operate in this high-stakes sector.
We’ll be getting back to you shortly with the technical details of this project as it progresses. We’re delighted to be able to help optimise our customers’ processes.
