Home > Management of the electrical and control and command packages, Focus on the Le Gol and Bois Rouge plants on Reunion Island
As part of the conversion to Biomass of the Bois Rouge and Le Gol plants, Albioma has entrusted us with the management of the electricity and pellet storage Control & Monitoring work packages.
The two thermal power plants Bois Rouge and Le Gol are definitively abandoning fossil fuels such as coal, in favor of renewable energies such as bagasse and pellets, and thus helping to guarantee Réunion’s energy autonomy.
Converting a power plant to produce energy requires a phase of work to adapt the facilities to the new types of fuel. In fact, it is crucial to rethink storage (large silos), handling (belt conveyors and hoppers), combustion (boilers) and smoke treatment equipment to enable the transition from coal to biomass.
Converting a power plant to run on biomass involves significant technical challenges in terms of electrical management and control, requiring technological adaptations, system optimizations and appropriate staff training.

In terms of Control & Command :
IESA has distinguished itself in the fields of industrial electricity and industrial automation since its inception.
We have recognized expertise in industrial electricity, based on over 20 years’ experience. We offer a full range of services, including on-site audits and expert appraisals, surveys, design and production of diagrams, installation studies, manufacture of electrical equipment, as well as management of electrical work projects and on-site services.
Our customers also call on us for the programming of their PLCs, supervision systems and man-machine interfaces, as well as for the creation and evolution of their programming standards.
For several years now, we have been working on the conversion of the Bois Rouge and Le Gol power plants on Reunion Island.
We first managed the High Voltage, Low Voltage and Command & Control work packages for the storage domes 1 and 2 at Le Port.
Today, we are once again working with Albioma, who are increasing the storage capacity of the Le Port site by installing two additional domes, pellet storage domes 3 and 4.
Our colleague Sylvain Lambert is supervising the cable-laying work and the installation of electrical cabinets to manage the pellet conveying and storage process for these new domes.
Our warmest thanks to our customer ALBIOMA, for their loyalty and the trust they have placed in us over the years.
Technical details about this project will be communicated soon as the project progresses. Stay connected by subscribing to our LinkedIn company page, and don’t hesitate to visit our website regularly, in the “News” section, to make sure you don’t miss out on any.
