The background to the development of this detection system
Safety and innovation are at the heart of IESA’s projects. In collaboration with Ingelo, we recently developed a universal service vehicle detection system for the ski lifts at La Plagne. This project, both technical and tailor-made, illustrates our expertise in industrial automation, industrial electricity and industrial simulation.
A technical challenge for a specific need La Plagne, one of the most popular ski resorts in the French Alps, needed a reliable, high-performance system to secure the use of its service vehicles on the ski lifts.
Our technical scope in industrial electricity and IT
Our mission: to design a system capable of detecting the position of the high guardrail (raised or lowered) on service vehicles.
Project objectives:
- Ensure maximum safety for operators.
- Provide a universal system adaptable to all types of lifts.
- Develop a robust, reliable and autonomous solution.
Mountain expertise
To meet these needs, our teams mobilized their know-how in several areas:
- Electrical studies: design of electrical diagrams adapted to site constraints.
- Industrial computing studies: development of detection and monitoring functionalities.
- On-site fine-tuning and commissioning: verification and optimization of the system under real-life conditions.
Detection system performance lives up to expectations
The detection system now in place effectively prevents the risk of accidents associated with the use of service vehicles. Operators benefit from a safe installation that complies with industry requirements.
This successful project testifies to our ability to innovate and provide tailor-made solutions adapted to the specific needs of mountain resorts and lift operators.
A solid partnership with Ingelo
This project would not have been possible without the active collaboration of Ingelo, a key partner in the development of this solution. Their expertise and commitment were major assets in bringing this project to a successful conclusion. Our warmest thanks to them.
Benefits of the vehicle detection system development project
- Easy installation: less than half a day per station
- Reliable detection: long range for effective guardrail position monitoring.
- Robust connectivity: stable radio detection
- Long-lasting battery: extended autonomy to reduce maintenance requirements.
- Universal: adaptable to all lift configurations.
