What is SIL ?
SIL stands for Safety Integrity Level, which measures the expected performance for a security function in order to reduce the risks connected to the process which could be dangerous for people, for the environment, or for property. There are sometimes 4 safety levels from SIL 1 to SIL 4 for the same process, depending upon the function being analyzed.
